Collectors Crazy
Somewhere in July 1980, little six year old me was on a family holiday, with my parents and sisters on the small island of Texel, of the coast of the Netherlands.
I told my parents I was going to the beach for a while {in those days parents let you, you know}. Hours and hours later, my parents started to worry, where the hell is she?!...........
Well they found me , bum up , heads down, with mountains of shells around me, too many to carry.
I was obsessed........I was collecting.
Fast forward 2016, nothing much has changed!
This time it`s bum up and heads down in the charity shops, garage sales, Facebook pages, Instagram, pocket traders, anything !...Anything to feed my need to collect!
Yes, I admit........NO!.......... I confess!
I AM COLLECTORS CRAZY!

a stamp collection: a collection of unclaimed hats in the checkroom .....or in my case anything vintage, clothes, chairs, magazines, shoes, fabrics and lots of sewing patterns.
Synonyms: accumulation, aggregation, mass, heap, pile, hoard, store.
So what! I am a creative, I need to surround myself with stuff, to feel creative..to be creative!
Collecting is in my DNA, that`s how my brain is wired , it`s my life!.. I don`t have a problem !?
Right!?.... Wrong! .....[ Right for me , wrong in other peoples opinion ]
When my parents came over one year and stayed at my place for a couple of weeks, they were amazed by the fact that I had a cupboard full { and a couple of vintage suitcases, and some big boxes } of vintage sewing patterns, { I admit I have a few , I couldn`t even shut my cupboard}
They even called me a hoarder {!!!!}
And when my friend mentioned , there was no way, in the world, I could possibly sew all this patterns in a lifetime { she even laughed , I felt a little offended , of course I can!}
Maybe my collecting is getting a little bit out of hand!
So this week I decided , it`s time to share my collection around, it`s time to off-load.
Starting with my patterns.... I went through piles and piles and piles of them , sorted some out
and uploaded them on my Etsy shop.
For you my, fellow collectors, I dedicate my Etsy shop to you! So you can surround yourself with inspiring things, to be creative , to feel creative... and maybe one day , you can also be Collectors Crazy!
